Why we exist
Sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms and multi-club groups now own clubs, leagues, broadcasters and the games that define the sport for a generation of fans. The deals are larger, the structures more complex and the stakes more global than ever.
Yet most public commentary on football finance still arrives in one of two forms: headline-driven reporting that stops at the transfer fee, or bank research that never leaves the trading floor.
World Football Intelligence was founded to close that gap, and works in two ways. For institutions, we produce confidential research commissioned around their own questions and delivered to them alone. For everyone else, we publish sourced, model-backed research in plain English on where the money in football comes from, where it is going, and what it is really worth.
What we cover
From a single club’s wage bill to a $55 billion take-private, we follow the capital wherever the game makes money.
01
Sovereign funds, private equity and multi-club groups: who is buying, how the deals are financed, and what the price implies.
02
Revenue mix, wage ratios, debt, cash flow and the financial regulations that shape how clubs can spend.
03
Broadcast rights, streaming and the franchises, like EA SPORTS FC, that turn football's audience into recurring revenue.
04
Club debt, receivables financing, private credit and securitization: how football is funded, and what that means for risk.
How we work
01
We start with annual reports, SEC filings, statutory accounts and league disclosures. Every figure is sourced, and every source is named on the page.
02
When a company won't break out a number, we build it from what it does report, segment by segment, the way a valuation desk would.
03
Estimates come as bear, base and bull cases with the assumptions in plain view, so readers can challenge our inputs instead of guessing at them.
04
Every report closes with what could go wrong: leverage, regulation, fan sentiment and execution. A thesis is only as good as its downside case.

Leadership
Andrew founded World Football Intelligence after more than a decade inside global banking, working where trades, valuation and financial reporting meet.
Most recently he was a financial analyst in Product Control for the Securitized Products group at UBS (formerly Credit Suisse), supporting derivatives, loans and cash securities portfolios with initial notional of over $5 billion across the Americas and EMEA. He produced daily P&L and balance sheet analysis, ran the risk-based P&L attribution process for the bank’s longevity business, and ensured portfolio reporting met US GAAP and IFRS standards.
Before that he was a subject-matter expert on the Americas FX Prime Brokerage team, settling high-value FX spot, forward, NDF and options trades for hedge fund clients. Earlier, he supported client investment products and transactions for USAA as an analyst with HCL America.
That structured-finance background is unusually relevant to modern football. Clubs increasingly borrow against future broadcast and transfer income, private credit funds lend into the game, and ownership deals are built on layered financing. Andrew analyzes those structures the way a securitized products desk would: cash flows first, then the risks behind them.
Andrew is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. As a charterholder, he is bound by the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, which underpin the firm’s commitments to independence, objectivity and confidentiality.
Our standards
We follow the CFA Institute Standards of Professional Conduct on independence and objectivity. Conclusions are never changed at a client's request.
Commissioned research belongs to the client who asked for it. It is never published, shared or reused without permission.
We don't act for competing parties on the same transaction. Where a relationship could be relevant, we disclose it or decline the work.
We analyze; clients decide. We don't make buy, sell or hold recommendations, set price targets or manage money.
Every figure carries its source. Where we estimate, we say so, show the assumption and give the range.
Institutional rigor without the jargon wall. Terms are defined, and the bottom line comes first.
